My gggrandfather was James Alley born 1822 in Scott county, VA. his father was also a James Alley who came form Ireland in 1776 and settled on 400 acres of land on the Clinch River in 1781. (this information was copied from a book of Alley family history and decendants from the 1600's. I do not know where the book is , my aunt copied this years ago.)There may be a connection here.
