I descend from Amelia Hubbard and Thomas Joseph Alley. I have Amelia b. 1804 in North Carolina and d. 1865 in Scott Co., VA....... is this accurate? Also, do you know anything else on her family- in particular we are trying to trace her granddaughter's (Emma Demeris Dotson) middle name. I also carry the name as does my mom, grandmother, great-grandmother's sister and Emma. I heard the name was originally a surname and goes back much further. If you have any additional information that might help, we would appreciate it.
