Do you know if there is a family connection some way between A. K. Alley and Henry Wood or Henry's wife, Mary Catherine Earls? According to stories passed down through family Mary lived with the A. K. Alley family in DeKalb County, Ala. at some time after her husband, Henry Wood, was killed at the battle of Chickamaugua 19 Sept 1863, and probably before her daughter, Sarah Jane was born in DeKalb Co. in 1873. Henry served under A. K. Alley during the war.
