I believe Erasmus Sr. of Va. and N.C. had the following family, elaborating on what you have

Richard C., Basdel, Erasmus Jr., Ignatius, Phillip, Joseph, Granville, Lee Hiram, Washington, probably Susannah who m. Francis Jackson, Obedience m. Samuel Oliver, and Martha m. John Phillips,

Joseph, Obedience, Martha, and Granville all ended up in neighboring areas in Indiana. Joseph, Martha, and Obedience lived very near each other in Milton Twp., Jefferson Co. Granville in 1850 lived a short distance over the line in Switzerland Co.

We do not have documentation that Obedience was a daughter. But there is strong circumstantial evidence. Joseph and Susannah Alley swore in 1851 that they were present at Obedience's marriage to Samuel Oliver in 1819 and the date is in a family register. Since the Oliver Bible doesn't have the date, I assume it was an Alley Bible. Granville Alley was paid for Samuel Oliver's coffin. Joseph Alley's daughter Sarah Plummer lived next to Obedience's daughter Ruth in 1850. Obedience and Samuel Oliver also named one son Erasmus Oliver.

The Oliver family Bible has a death date for Mary Alley, who I believe to be Erasmus Sr's widow, and probably second wife, who left the wife in Rockingham Co. naming Granville as a son. Other correspondents tell me that at least one of the grandchildren mentioned in her will was Lee Hiram's and I t hink it's Lee Jr. who appears in Granville's household in 1850.

Additional, there's a letter from one ofJoseph Alley's daughter which refers to uncle Richard Alley. It mentions uncle John Phillips, who had died, aunt Bidy Phillips, still alive,, and aunt Rebecca, wife of uncle Granville, who had died. I think that Bidy Phillips is Martha, age 72, in the 1860 Jefferson County Census. Obedience is buried in the Phillips Cemetery along with John Phillips. I don't have any proof of the marriage, however.

I think that Erasmus is a brother to Leven and Walter. I think one of the other correspondents was confusing the different Erasmuses.
