John Hann Allen b.1864 Houghten-le-Spring, Durham Co., ENG d. 1910 was the son of Joseph Allen b. abt 1830 Houghten-le-Spring d.1899 and Elizabeth Hann (1834-1893). Census records for Joseph list various birth locales as Red Burn row, Cross Fence, and Colliery Row in different census years, but all are part of Houghten-le-Spring. Siblings of John Hann Allen (all last name Allen) include James Hann b.1856, Dorothy J. b.1858, Elizabeth M b.1861, Stephen H b.1867, Joseph F. b.1870, William b.1872, Isabella b.1877, and Clara Ann b.1879.
Joseph Allen was the son of James Allen (b.1789 Northumberland d. 1867 Houghten-le-Spring)and Jane Thompson (b. 1791 Northumberland- d.1872).
I'm trying to confirm parentage of James Allen who may be Francis Allen (b.1755 Northumberland) and Elizabeth Johnson. Any others out there researching this family? Thanks for any help.
