Hi Bob,
I have just started to check Henry B. Allen & believe his mother was Ruby, but was his father Henry or Obadiah Allen ? The death record of Henry B. Allen born 27 Mar 1839 died 25 Apr 1919 Pittsford states mother Ruby Blake and father Henry Allen. The typed card I saw on ancestry was source. Would like to see the original death record as I have found mistakes are made when information is copies from one place to another.
I will look at my land records of Ferrisburg tonight and my information on Obadiah Allen & Hannah Gage. The land records of Ferrisburg do prove their children. I have worked on them since 1975 and been in contact with many cousins. One Allen cousin worked at the Ethan Allen Trust and could not find a connection to Ethan Allen. Last year she was in Vt and NY & did find some new information but she has been ill and has not said what she did find. I plan to send a copy of my Allen information to a library in Ferrisburg area.
I did find in 1860 census of Ferrisburg Ruby Taggart age 53 with husband William Taggart and Henry Allen age 23, after them was a Gage family and living with them a Mariah Allen age 18.
I will reply again tomorrow with I hope a better reply. Eva
