DEXTER / ALLEN Marriages, Brooklyn / Killingly, CT, 1700's/1800's
Hello.I was wondering if anyone knew whether there was a direct connection between the Mary ALLEN who married Joseph DEXTER in the late 1700's, and the Mary Ann ALLEN who married Joseph and Mary's youngest son, Marvin DEXTER.
Joseph DEXTER was born in Smithfield, RI, and I believe he moved his family to Killingly, CT, in the 1780's.
Marvin DEXTER was born in Killingly, CT, in 1805.
So far, I have Marvin's wife, Mary Ann ALLEN, born in Brooklyn, CT, in 1807, and the daughter of John ALLEN and Anna HAVEN.John and Anna married in 1794 in Brooklyn, CT.(Two other children were born in 1797 and 1798.)
I don't think I have yet found out who the parents of Mary (ALLEN) DEXTER were (the wife of Joseph DEXTER).
I am currently researching Marvin DEXTER's family. So far, it looks like he only had two children:Abby DEXTER born in 1831 and John DEXTER born in 1833, both in Killingly, CT.
I believe DEXTER Farms were in Killingly from 1790 until well after 1890, and I would like to know more about them, and their owners.
