There are many John Allen's in my family going back to somewhere around the mid to early 1700's. My great, great, great grandfather Thomas Allen moved the family from Beaufort Co., NC to Shelby Co., TN in 1835. He had a brother John, an uncle John, a grandfather John and probably a grandfather John Allen. The first John Allen we have information on came to the Craven Co., NC area in 1750's. We think we are Scotch-Irish and Presbyterian but we know little else after that. If you think this is your line e-mail me and I will give you further information.
