Connie, I noticed your post, and there are 2 ALLEE families in the Houston Co. TX census of 1870 (I searched ancestry.com for Allees in TX, and there were other families in other counties. The only other Houston Co. Allee family was in 1880, J.C. Allee, page 403, ED 28, but I don't have access to that census):

P. 270b - Crockett P.O., Prec. 4:

116-116:
T.J. ALLEE - 36 - M - W - Farmer - 310 - TN
M.E. - 22 - F - W - keeping house - MS
M.E. - 16 - F - W - at home - AR
John A. - 14 - M - W - at home - AR
J.B. - 11 - M - W - AR
Wm M. - 5 - M - W - AR
L.M. - 3 - M - W - AR

[I guess TJ & ME *loved* the "M" initial...)

P. 272a:
117-117:
W.M. ALLEE - 32 - M - W - Farmer - AR
Mary J. - 20 - F - W - keeping house - MS
Fannie - 4 - F - W - TX
T.J. - 2 - M - W - TX

I'm not related to any ALLEE folk and don't know anything about them. Hope this helps.
Best of luck to you.
