My mother was an Allday.Born in 1908 she was the middle child of five.
They were George,Emma,Lily,Frances & Beverley Joseph.
All are now unfortunately deceased, however,Beverley went to live in Canada and has one son still living there by the name of Robert.
My grandfather's name was George Allday and I believe he originated from Beverley in Yorkshire, hence my uncle's name.
As far as I know they had some connection with a firm of bicycle makers "Allday & Onions" who later tried to venture into car making at the beginning of last century.
Somewhere along the the line the families were interlinked with the "Hartleys," a jam making company and I once met a second cousin whose name was "Violet" so there is probably some connection with your "Violet"
