I am interesting in corresponding with you on William Gillespie and a possible connection to the Halls. An 1822 unrecorded deed in Sumner Co. TN between William Harvey and Robert K. Gillespie was witnessed by Nathan Hall. William Gillespie owned land near the Halls in Smith Co. TN on Spring Creek. I am researching the possibility my Halls lived in Montgomery Co. VA and Washington Co. TN (Watauga area) before coming to Smith Co. and wondering if there is a connection with these Gillespies. There seem to be many residents of early Sumner Co.
