Rebecca, I have recently bought an old MG motorcar which was purchased by D W Allardice in August 1934. He was living at 20 Acreville Road Lower Bebington Cheshire. He wrote to the MG car company in 1938 asking for formal details of the cars weight,length etc which I imagine was because he wanted to export the car. The next sighting of the MG was on a scrap yard in Santiago about 35 - 40 years ago. The car was saved, restored and moved to indianna, then to Ohio and is now making its way back to the UK.
I wondered if you had uncovered any more details on the Allardice side ( I know you were looking for Shand ), or have any tips on how I might research further. With the research done so far there is a strong Chile connection.
