This is a very long shot indeed!
I am trying to find photographs of FRANCES BATTY SHAND (1815-1885).
She and 6 surviving siblings were born in Jamaica, the children of Scottish-born JOHN SHAND and his black housekeeper FRANCES BROWN, and accompanied their father to Scotland ca 1816.
Frances lived in Scotland and Wales, and died in Switzerland. She founded the Cardiff Institute For The Blind in 1865.
Frances named "DAVID WILLIAM ALLARDICE of Number 19 James Street Liverpool" as one of the executors of her will. Frances also left a bequest to “my dearly beloved friend ANN ALLARDICE” (perhaps David William's sister?).
Ann Allardice was staying with Frances, her brother JOHN BATTY SHAND and her sister MILLBOROUGH BATTY SANDIEMAN in Cardiff at the time of the 1871 Census - she was born in Scotland, and gave her age as 50.
I have briefly researched David William Allardice through the 1881, 1891 and 1901 censuses of England. A David William Allardice, born in Angus, Scotland, ca 1832, a South American Merchant, lived in Woodhey, Higher Bebington, Cheshire, with his wife Alice and children.
Another of Frances' brothers, RICHARD BATTY SHAND, was a merchant in Central America (probably Puerto Rico), ca 1830-?1850. Perhaps it was through him that Frances became acquainted with David William and Ann Allardice.
I am wondering if any descendants of David William Allardice have in their possession any photographs of Frances Batty Shand, or even any unidentified photographs from the relevant period of black or mixed race women or men.
According to the above censuses, David William Allardice had at least 11 children:

Kenneth M Allardice b ca 1884 Higher Bebington Rock Ferry, Cheshire, England
If any descendants of these Allardices have any photographs that are or may be of Frances or her siblings, I would be delighted to hear from them.
