As you doubtless already know, the old baronial family of Allardyce had very close connections to the Arbuthnotts of Arbuthnott. For example, John Allardice of Allardice (d. 1500-1511) married Catherine, daughter of Robert, 10th of Arbuthnott. James Allardice of Kinneph (dc 1646) married Margery, d/o Robert Arbuthnott of Little Fiddes. See wwww.allerdice.net, the Allardice family website, and my monograph on the Allardice family.
