Paul. I have had a feeling about your John Law Bligh for sometime. certain dates of his birth match with those of the Bligh and Allan women who were related to Irvines'.
WILLIAM IRVINEmMARY ALLANat NewCastle NBL1800.
WILLIAM IRVINEmJANET BLYTH at Cavers Roxburghshire 1800.
WILLIAM ALLAN living with a John Bligh at Canongate Edinburgh in 1800. ??????
Paul. There were a family of Allans' that had married into the Irvines' of Drum in Aberdeenshire. The family had died out by 1850 and gave no reference to surviving children. I believe my descendant to be the above Mary Allan to which
her Grandchildren were born around Cavers in Roxburghshire.
Allans' of Ayrshire settled close to my Jane Irvine in NZ.
There were also 3 Allan men that farmed in Victoria Australia close to a James Irvine in the early to mid 1800s.
I think a James Orr was employed to survey parts of Victoria.
An Alexander Irvine also lived close to Allans' in NZ, his mother was an Orr and his father was an Irvine of Drum from Aberdeenshire.
A Dr John Burford of Auckland NZ may have possible leads.

Let me know what you think.
Thanks.Mike Irvine.
