Michael,
I don't have any original documents to share, but I do have some notes from Violet Allaire's genealogy.
What I have is:
Etienne Allaire I, the son of the immigrant Charles Allaire, married Marie-Anne Bilodeau on Nov. 24th, 1705 at St. Francois d'Orleans. They had at least nine children.
He then remarried, probably after his first wife's passed away, to Marquerite Amiel-Lusignan at Contrecoeur on December 1st, 1731.
If he was born in 1783, he would have been 48 years old at this time. According to my records, their were three children born to his second marriage.
Etienne Allaire II, the son of Etienne I by Marie-Anne Bilodeau, and grandson of Charles Allaire, married Josette Amiel-Lusignan on November 1st, 1736 at Contrecour. He would have been twenty-five.
So, Etienne I would have remarried at 48 about the same time as his son Etienne II married for the first time at the age of 25. Their wives both had the same surname, Amiel-Lusignan, and must have been related.
To complicate matters even further, Jacques, another son of Etienne the first, and brother of Etienne II, married Therese Amiel-Lusignan onDecember 1st, 1736.One month after his brother Etienne II married Josette Amiel-Lusignan.
So three Allaires, a father and two of his sons married three Amiel-Lusignans, relationships unknown.Very confusing, at least from our 21st century perspective.
