June 2011 I just came across your post regarding the family of Dr. Frederic Allain and thought that the following might interest you. My grandmother was Aline Marie Allain (1877-1953). She spent her last years living with her son, my father Jules R. Kaul. While with us, my sister asked her about our family ancestors and wrote the information down as follows: Aline Marie Allain (1877-1953) married in 1899 George Henry Kaul, Sr., her siblings were Marie Allain, Naomi Allain, Odile Allain; her parents were Armond Allain (b. 1836, France) and Azelie Madere (b. 1850, Convent, LA.) Armond Allain’s parents were Dr. Pierre Allain and Lodelodie Delomer. My research shows that Armond’s siblings were Dr. Fredric Allain, Albert Allain, and Helen Allain. I can not find anything about Dr. Pierre’s wife Lodelodie Delmer, but your post gives another name. Perhaps my grandmother was mistaken or there were two marriages. Among her possessions we found newspaper clippings of the death of her grandfather and her uncle. Although they were printed in New Orleans, back then the newspapers were still being printed in French. Your post also answers the question as to why the dAquin family was mention in Dr. Frederic’s death notice. Thank you. (I have attempted to show a copy of the clippings, but I don't seem to be able to copy.)
