Alicea is not a common last name. My father, Porfirio Alicea, came from Barranquitas, P.R. My grandfather, Evangelio, came to work here in Lorain, OH to work in the Steel Mill, as did many Puerto Ricans in that time. I have seen pictures of my great-grandmother and she looks Indian, possibly of the Taino Indians. There are actually two families of Alicea's here in Lorain, although we aren't sure if we are related or not. If anyone has any information on Alicea's in P.R. Please email me, I would like to trace my roots.
