Nathan Putman & Mary Algire, Williamstown, Ont., 1790
Who was the Nathan PUTMAN that was baptized on 16 May 1790 at the Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Williamstown, Glengarry County, Ontario, Canada. His parents were Nathan PUTMAN and Mary ALGIRE.
This information comes from the IGI at www.familysearch.org.
This Nathan may be related to the Nathan Putnam who was a resident of Cornwall, Ontario between 1800 and 1810. This Nathan Putnam was an apparent relative of Ephron Putnam, also of Cornwall, Ontario.
Ephron's line was: Ephron (Asaph, Isaac, Edward, Thomas, John).
I suspect that this Mary Algire may be related to the John Algire/Alguire that was a resident of Williamstown, Ontario. This John Algire married Mary Margaret WOOD at Saint Andrews Church on 17 Mar 1797. They had the following children: Nancy, Elizabeth, Rosanna, Sarah, Mary, Daniel B., Katherine, John David, and John Williams Alguire.
This John Algire was the son of John George Alguire and Margaret Eamer, and was born about 1777 in or around the Mohawk Valley, New York. The Mary Algire that married Nathan Putman may have been another daughter of these two.
