I just found out after my post that my family decents from a man by the name of Manghaughwont. I found this on this web address http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/a/n/d/Caroline-K-Andler/GENE17-0001.html (I found my grandfather in the last page.) According to the website Manghaughwont was born in Mohegan, New London, CT, but there is no year listed. He married an unknown Native American woman. There first child was EPHRAIM2 JOHNSON, d. July 29, 1749, Montville, New London Co., CT. I think the child may have been still born. Their second child was Joseph Johnson (JOHN JOHNSON, b. Mohegan, New London, CT; d. Bef. 1766, Groton, Connecticut.) Joseph later became famous. There is a lot more there for those who decend from Manghaughwont, the Native American who signed the Mohegan Indians on List of 1746. More information can be read on that at: http://wolfweb.unr.edu/homepage/shubinsk/brothertown/families.txt Notify Administrator about this message?
