My grandmother was an Alger and was born in Page County Virginia - in Luray - she now lives in Stanley. I don't know which line of Algers you are looking for because there are so many.
Her name is Virginia Rachael Alger Brooks. She had one brother, William Henry, now deceased and her father was James Alger and her mother was Bessie Weakley.
