My g-g-g-grandfather was Joseph Alger, whose daughter Jane was born about 1830 in Vermont. The family moved to New York State and then was listed in the 1845 census of St. Joseph Co., Michigan. Jane married Stephen Fowler. Do you know anything about Joseph?
