I do not have a photo of my gr-grandfather, but I called my cousin and she is to look through her photos. I would love to have a copy of the photo you have of the men. You mentioned the Alger homestead. Do you know where that was at?
Possibly William and Elam are one and the same. I will have to try to check on that. So many went by two different names.
I have that Phineas Alger had 4 children, but only have the names of 3: Alma, Lena and Jay. If you would like a copy of the letter, I will send it to you.
I have been to the Tioga County Clerk's office in Owego,NY, but I was looking for the other side of my family. I live in the area, so it is not that far to go, just finding the time is hard. I am willing to share any other information that I come across in my seaches.
