I don't have very much specific information on Arthur Jay. In a letter my cousin gave to me, it lists an Arthur and Eileene as children of 'Jay', son of Phineas. Phineas Alger was listed as a brother to my great grandfather Edwin Alger. Other siblings in that letter were Mortimer, Hattie(Harriet)Alger Briggs and Mattie(Martha)Alger Esler. Their parents were Elam(listed as Elim on the 1870 census and Ellum on another year) and Alvira (Belknap name my cousin listed as her maiden name) Alger. I am having trouble locating information on the Algers. I don't know where any of the older generation are buried as yet. The first information I found on Elam, showed that he was living in Syracuse NY, then later on in Tioga County. I can look through the rest of my papers and see what else I have been able to verify if you are interested.
