I am trying to locat information on my great grandfather Frederick Charles Alger. I can not locate his birth certificate. However, I have located certificates of his marriages.
Frederick was married to Kathleen Mary McDermott on 4th March 1907 in Southampton, England. The marriage certificate stated that he was an Army Sergeant and his father's name was Charles Alger.
Frederick Charles had two children to Kathleen - Frederick Dermott (my grandfather) born on 6 December 1907 in Agra, India and Denise Louise Lourde born on 18 February 1909 in Agra, India. At the time of both births Frederick Charles was a Sergeant on a military farm in Agra, India.
Kathleen died sometime between 1909 and 1914. Frederick Charles later remarried Lillian E Hickmott on 3 June 1914 in India. At this stage Frederick Charles was working on a military farm in Lucknow, India. It is also possible that Frederick and Lillian had a daugther possibly named Pamela, however, I have been unable to find any record of her.
Frederick Charles remained in India where he later died in the late 1940s - early 1950s.
I can not locate where Frederick Charles was born, but it is believed to be approximately 1881.
If anybody can supply me with information regarding Frederick Charles Alger, or his father Charles G Alger, or the possible missing daughter, I would be very grateful. Thankyou!
