Isaac ALGER (often found as ALGIER or ALGERS) was born 1805 and died in GA abt. 1871. He married Jane R. LESTLEY Dec. 6, 1827 in Bibb Co., GA. She was born April 19, 1811 and died June 2, 1866.

Isaac and Jane had ten children; seven sons and three daughters; William T., Wilson L., James R., Vincent, Isaac H., Napolean B., Benjamin Franklin, Arabella, Mary Jane, and Margaret. The family lived in and around Mitchell Co., south GA most of their lives.

All of their sons fought for the Confederacy and six of the seven were killed. Only Benjamin Franklin b. 1846, survived the war. He went on to marry Nancy Ann Eliza Jarrell March 27, 1881 in Mitchell Co., GA and they had nine children. I have information on most of these children and descendants I am willing to share.

Several of Ben's brothers who were killed in the War, had been married and had children. I am particularly interested in finding descendants of:
Wilson L. Alger, b. 1832 GA, d. Sept. 1, 1863, who married a Mary (last name unknown). They had one known child, a son Joseph Hutto ALGER, b. abt. 1859 in Colquitt Co., GA.

James R. Alger b. 1835 GA, d. Dec. 4, 1862. He married a Nancy J._____. They had one known child, Emerson L. Alger, b. abt. 1860, Colquitt Co., GA.
