Comments: Searching for info on family line in Old Lyme, CT. Looking for records of GGGG GF "Stoughton Alger"(b. 8 Mar 1749/50, Lyme, New London, CT) m. (3 Sept 1772, Glastonbury, Fair Haven Churh, New London, CT) to a "Ruth Taylor" (b. Glastonbury, CT). He is the son of "Simeon Alger" and "Mary Hodge". Simeon is the son of "Roger Alger" (b. 25 Jul 1687) (m.8 Feb 1708, Lyme, CT?)and "Sarah Stoughton" (b. 12 Dec 1695, Windsor, CT)(Need to varify this.) Roger is the son of "Roger Alger" (b. abt 1650-59)(m. abt 1680, Lyme, CT) and Elizabeth Innis (1st Wife)(b. abt 1655, Newport, RI)(Need to varify this.) Roger is son of "Jonathan Auger/Alger" (b. abt 1630) and "Sarah (Unknown maiden name)" Indications are that the "Alger's" were one of the first twenty families that founded Lyme, CT. It is believed that the came from "Yorkshire" in "England". Any info on these relatives would be greatly appricated. I especially need varifing info on Roger Alger and Sarah Stoughton and any info on Jonathan (Parents/ brothers/ sisters/etc.) Thanks to one and all, Frank A. Alger, Jr.
