Leona, I am working on finding my first American Alger's. I am very interested in knowing what you have found concerning Andrew & Agnes ? Alger. I would like to share with you my basic information that I currently have from their daughter to whom I descend from and what I am concerned about. Hopefully you have the answer to help correct the matter for me.Jane (Joanne) Alger was born in 1650 I have no place of birth listed on my ancestral file pedigree chart. She married Elias Okeman about 1678 in Prob. Boston, Suffolk, Mass. She died 26 March 1733. Her parents are listed as Andrew Alger and Agnes. Andrew was born 1618 in Dunstan, Norfolk, Eng.He married ? Date in Scarborough, Cumberland, Maine, AGNES ? she was also said to have been born there also. Andrew died there too 12 Oct. 1675. Now the part that is distrubing to me is that I have AGNES died 1634 in Scarsboro, C, Maine. If that's the case then how then can Agnes be Joanne's mother unless I have the incorrect death date on Agnes, or Andrew married another after Agnes's death, but you say his widow being Agnes I trust remarries Samuel Walker. Now I'm sure you can help me clear this up. I also love to here about the stories if you have about the family, our first Americans. The ship they came on, Did they represent anyone from England? So Andrew came to America with his brother Arthur? I have Arthur Alger as the father to Andrew born: 1588 in Dunstone, Devon, England. Arthur Alger's father was Richard Alger born 1585, mother Margaret ? born about 1587. Looking forward to your reply. Cynthia,
