I am descended from Jacob Alford,b. 1789, Robeson Co.,NC. He was the son of James Alford and Katrain MCTYER, the granddaughter of Dr.James Adair, the author of 'THE HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN INDIAN". This James Alford was the son of Jacob Alford,born Dec. 12,1738, in New Kent Co.,Va who married Mary Pace. Jacob's parents were Lodwick Alford,b. 1710 in Va. and his second wife Susannah .Lodwick was the son of James Alford, who they estlimate was born about 1687 in Va. Check out THE ALFORD AMERICAN FAMILY ASSOCIATION, 1403 Kingsford Dr., Florissant, MO 63031-2422 (314) 831-8648. Ask for Gil Alford. He is just the nicest person. Helped me a lot.
