GERALD C. HERLOCHER
Milan
Gerald C. Herlocher, 71, of Milan died peacefully at home June 8, 2008, with his family at his side. Mr. Herlocher was born June 24, 1936, in Sugar Valley, Pa., the son of Harvey and Elizabeth (Alford) Herlocher.
Mr. Herlocher moved to Michigan in 1956, and married Virginia Mae (Wardle) Herlocher June 21, 1958. He retired from Huron Tower Apartments in June 2007.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia, and six children, Wavie (Fred) Barton of Zephyrhills, Fla., Mary (Duane) Rudy of North Branch, Raymond (Anne) Herlocher of Maybee, Lisa Perry of Tecumseh, Anita (Barry) Paul of Milan and Loretta McCready of South Lyon.
Also surviving are Gerald's 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one brother, Horace Orie (Mary) Herlocher of Loganton, Pa.; one sister in-law, Leona (Wardle) Winkle of Belleville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel (Abe) Paulhaumies of Pennsylvania; five brothers, Alfred (Loraine) Herlocher of Texas, Edward (Ruth) Herlocher of New York, Harvey (Mildred) Herlocher of Pennsylvania, Carl (Rebecca) Porth of Pennsylvania and Clare (Violet) Porth of Pennsylvania; one brother-in-law, Wilbur Paul Winkle of Michigan; and one grandson, Kenneth Raymond Hamilton of Michigan.
Mr. Herlocher was a devoted husband and a loving father, and he will be greatly missed.
Visitation was held Tuesday and Wednesday at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home in Milan. A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Bob Riddle will officiate. Burial will follow at London Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
