I'm trying to prove that PaNeTa Alford is the daughter of Fernaty Alford and Nay Tha Way Nah, a Shawnee or Creek. Some Genealogists have him as PaNeTa's father. Fernaty married James Johnson Sept. 23,1832, five years before PaNeTa was born. PaNeTa is also found living with her Uncle William Alford and her Grandparents Samuel and Sylvira Cobb Truss as Naty. I think she was ostersized by her mother and James Johnson and her Grandparents and Uncle took her in or she chose to not live with her mother. PaNeTa married Griffin Gregory and he died in Newallah, Oklahoma, (Indian Territory). I also have a picture of PaNeTa and Gregory and she is called Naty Gregory in the picture. There are a lot of Johnsons and Gregorys who are of Native American Ancestry but I am still working on finding out the connection with Nay Tha Way Nah abd Fernaty Alford.
