Hi Patricia, I recognized you as one of the founding members of our Alford association (#0203). We have almost 1300 members now. I appreciate the information on American Williams Alford. Our record showed her as born in AR but I've now added Jefferson Co. AAFA has become so large and is somewhat fragmented I never know who has been updated on whom. Back in 1989 when you joined we could pretty well keep up with each member but that is no longer possible. Did you ever get word that we now know that Robert Temple Alford was the son of Julius Alford and Ann Hayes (1788-1820). They were married Feb. 18 1806 in Wilson Co., TN. Julius, b. ca 1785, was the son of Hudson Alford b. ca 1760 NC. They travelled together from NC via TN and AL to Wilkinson Co., MS. That puts your Alford ancestors in the entangled Alford mess in the Franklin-Wake Co. area of NC. Lynn Shelley, our AAFA research chair, made this discovery and she can tell you more if you are interested. If you want her email address send me a private email at GilAlford@Yahoo.com and I'll give it to you. If you have not been there lately you might want to check out the AAFA website at www.alfordassociation.org. Gil Alford Notify Administrator about this message?
