My July '98 trip to Brookfield found a grave for Nathan's wife Mary who died 26/07/1806, age 77, and is buried in Brookfield Center Cemetery. However, nothing for Nathan.

At a town meeting 25/03/1793 Nathan Alvord and Arthur Hatch were named Tythingmen, so we find that he was active in Brookfield as of that date.

John Alvord, born So.Hadley, MA 13/07/1760 owned farm property in Brookfield which remained in the Alvord family for five generations until Edgar Duane Alvord moved to Randolph, VT, a few miles south of Brookfield. However, there is no mention of Nathan owning land. He may have been living with his son John.

I do not believe that Nathan moved from Brookfield prior to his death, but the lack of info, when others are documented, is frustrating. Also, his date of birth is said to be 1731, but no verification seems available. I have hopes that someone at the Paducah shindig will lay it all out.
