Dear Angela,
Do you know Wade's birthdate or how old he was when he died? We have quite a bit of information on VA Alfords but less on the more recent (since-1900) ones.

In checking the 1920 VA census, I imagine he is the WARD H. Alford, age 3 years and 3 months, found in Augusta Co., the son of F. Luther Alford and Lottie F. Alford. I believe Luther was the son of Marion Alford and wife Eveline and the grandson of Robert Alford.

This is all from notes I have jotted down on my census information and I will have to take time to follow up on them.

Right now, I am swamped with getting ready for the AAFA annual meeting, this year in Paducah, KY, Oct. 9-11.

If you will write me right after that, I will try to provide you with more information. We would be very interested in all descendants of Wade that you know of. We maintain an extensive database of Alford information and try to compile everything we can find for use of future generations.
