May be this will help.
Edna Alice Latimer born Jan. 18, 1970 in Desota Parish Lousianna married John Alford on Dec. 6, 1889. She is Buried in Truitt Cementary in Shelby County.
Two sons: Luther married Miss Georgia Duke of Ramh on Oct. 6, 1912. He took ill with typhoid fever while working in an oil refinery in Minden La. and died 3 weeks later on July 1, 1920 leaving a daughter, Luther Irus.
Fred E. Alford is my grandfather as Clara Truitt would be my grandmother. This info came from the Shelby County Historical Society.
The only information about John is word of mouth only. I was told he left his family and went to what was believd the Beaumont or Port Arthor area and may have started another family, but this is not fact.
