(134) Richard McDaniel “Bink” Alford, son of Richard Reddin Alford, was born on November 5, 1877 in Coffee County, Alabama. He grew up in Geneva County and married his first wife, Mary E.Owens (6/18/1876-unknown/ b. Geneva County) there in 1896. In 1900 the couple was living north of Samson, Alabama on their farm. Sometime after 1900, they briefly moved into Samson and lived with “Bink”s father, Richard Redden. Richard Redden had a stroke, and they came to help take care of him. After the death of Richard Redden’s wife, “Sally” (after 1920), they moved back to their farm, taking Richard Redden with them. They lived there the rest of their lives there and both are buried at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Richard and Mary Alford had the following children:

(386) William M. Redden (1/28/1901- 10/28/1992) b. Geneva Co., Al. m. Unknown (387) W. Labon (1904-aft 1930) b. Geneva County, Al. m. Unknown
(388) Roxanne (1907-aft 1920) b. Geneva County, Al. m. Walter Owens
(389) Reuben M. (1/29/1908-10/27/1966) b. Geneva County, Al. m. Reecie Ann ?
(390) Ella (12/29/1909-1/15/2000) b. Geneva County, Al. m. Andrew Rials
(391) Johnny (1913- alive 2002) b. Geneva County, Al. m. Unknown
(392) Oscar M. (11/1937-11/1937) b. Geneva County, Al. m. died young

Now to the children of Richard McDaniel “Bink” Alford, son of Richard Reddin Alford.

(385) Sarah Melissa Alford, daughter of Richard McDaniel Alford, was born on February 13, 1899 in Geneva County, Alabama. Her first husband was Preston Gilmore and her third husband was Johnny Brooks. She died in March 1986 while living in Dothan, Alabama and is buried at New Home Baptist Church south of Samson. They had the following children: Dorothy Gilmore (?-?), James Gilmore (?-?), Wauree Gilmore (?-?), Edna Gilmore (?-?), and Mary Esther Gilmore (?-?).

(386) William M. Redden Alford, son of Richard McDaniel Alford, was born on January 28, 1901 in Geneva County, Alabama. He died on October 28, 1992 (SSDI). Nothing else is known about him.

(387) W. Labon Alford, son of Richard McDaniel Alford, was born in 1904 in Geneva County, Alabama. Nothing else is known about him.

(388) Roxanne Alford, daughter of Richard McDaniel Alford, was born in 1907 in Geneva County, Alabama. She grew up there and married Walter Owens (?-?) (date and location unknown). She is buried at New Home Baptist Church south of Samson.

(389) Reuben M. Alford, son of Richard McDaniel Alford, was born on January 29, 1908 in Geneva County, Alabama. Growing up in Geneva County, he married Reecie A. ? (?-?) (date unknown). He died on October 27, 1966 in Leesburg, Florida (Lake County). He was brought home for burial and is interred at New Home Baptist Church south of Samson, Alabama. His wife is buried next to him.

(390) Ella Alford, daughter of Richard McDaniel Alford, was born in December 29, 1909 in Geneva County, Alabama. She grew up in Samson and married Andrew Rials (?-?) (date and location unknown). They farmed northeast of Samson at McCall’s Crossroads. Ella died on January 15, 2000 and is buried at Mount Carmel Church northeast of Samson, next to her husband.

(391) Johnny Alford, son of Richard McDaniel Alford, was born in 1913 in Geneva County, Alabama. He is alive today (2001) and lives between Piney Grove and Ino in the Holley Mill Community north of Samson. Johnny was a long distance truck driver.

(392) Oscar M. Alford, son of Richard McDaniel Alford, was born in 1937 in Geneva County, Alabama. He died the same year, and is buried at Piney Grove Baptist Church north of Samson, Alabama (Geneva County).
