John Boon(e) and Elizabeth Alford were also ancestors of mine thru the son John Jr. who m. Nancy Carr. In a History of Fayette County written in the 1920's, James Boone who was President of a Boone Society in WV had an article included that indicated that he thought Israel might be the father. I was never able to learn why he might have come to that conclusion. Maybe if the current Boone DNA Project is active, we'll eventually have a better idea just where our John come from beyond the remark made by Boon when applying for his Rev. War Pension, that he had gone with his uncle Daniel Boone to Kentucky...see http://members.tripod.com/dellariola/index_m.htm
