Warren Jackson Alford and Covered Bridge

In case there are any covered bridge fans out there. Warren Jackson Alford (my great-great grandfather built covered bridges in the Upson and Talbot County Georgia area in the latter part of the 1800's. The Auchumpkee Creek bridge, one of the 13 covered bridges in Georgia was washed out during the floods of 1994. The bridge is being rebuilt by a firm out of New Hampshire that is supposed to be the premiere bridge building outfit in North America. The bridge is located on Allen Road about 8 miles south of Thomaston Georgia on US 19 in Upson County, Georgia.
