I am searching for the father of P.L. Alford. Full name is Pierce Lewis Alford. He lived in Talbot and Upson Counties, Georgia in the 1840's to probably late 1850's. He migrated to Tallapoosa County, Alabama and joined Company C of the 57th Alabama Regiment. He rose to the rank of leutenant. He was captured at the Battle of the Wilderness and eventually shot probably trying to escape. His widow and children relocated back to Upson County, Georgia. One of his son's, my great-great grandfather was Warren Jackson ALford a builder of covered bridges in the region. We have not been able to identify who P. L. Alford's father was. If anyone has any information, it would be appreciated.
