I wish I could share information with you about Redden Alford. He is my gggrandfather on my Dad's side. His daughter, Mary (Martha, Mattie) Catherine married my ggrandfather William Bluford Fine in 1882. I have just started to search the Alfords so John Redden Alford was to be my starting point to begin tracing back. Do you have his place of birth/death (other than just state)? Or Nancy's place of birth/death (other than just the state) M.C. Alford Fine died in Ft. Worth, TX in 1933.
The fact that you found John with a different spelling is interesting, and something I hadn't expected. But I guess in the this research business anything should be and can be expected, especially the unexpected.
I would appreciate any info you would care to share.
