in a posting of march 21, 1998, charles alford mentioned lynn having info on a publication on irish john alford's genealogy.my g-g-g-grandmother is elizabeth alford, daughter of irish john. she was born abt 1765 and married john boone in 1787 or 1788 in rockingham or augusta co., va.
john boone(born 1755 in york co., pa) has claimed to be a nephew of daniel boone and his parents have been speculated to be israel boone, brother of daniel.
in the october 1999 issue of the compass, the offical newsletter of the boone society, susan henderson has "tried to set the record straight" by showing israel could not be john boones father. this letter can be found in the following address:

in this letter she refers to an "old draft article on descendants of irish john alford" in which it is alleged john boone, who married elizabeth alford, was a son of israel boone. her claim was that this was erronous information and israel was not john's father. john himself made the claim of daniel as his uncle in his rev. war pension application of 1833 and it is a story that has come down through the generations. i am interested in finding any kind of information that would help us resolve the issue and thought this "draft" or other publication might shed some "light" on the problem.
lynn do you or anyone else know of this draft or any other? thanks for any help!!
