Posted a query here last year looking for information on my great grandmother, Nancy Alford who married John Henry Gilbert Armstrong at Newport, Jackson County, Arkansas in 1889. Lynn Shelley of AAFA advised then there was no record of my Nancy Alford in the group's records, but I check in here regularly just in case someone else posts a query that overlaps mine.
Well, after a year of looking, I've finally came up with a lead on her - the LDS Family history library has a record of a marriage between Nannie Alford and J.H.Armstrong- right town, right date. Eureka!
Ordered the microfiche from the main library in Salt Lake City - just learned it arrived today. Am heading to the Oakland LDS library in the am for a look at the film of their marriage certificate - hoping that it will provide me with the names of Nancy Alford's parents and maybe a connection to the rest of you Alfords. Cross your fingers!
