No proof that this is the Annie you are looking for but a Polly Alford married John SALLARDS in Greenbrier Co. VA on 22 Sep 1794. Her father died soon thereafter and she was just listed as Polly in his will.

John Sellards was listed in SOLDIERY OF WEST VIRGINIA and seemed to have been in the area about 1793. I have no proof that Annie and Polly are the same but have been unable to find any evidence of a Sellards/Sallards in the area after 1794. I don't remember now if I checked tax records before and after that date for Sellards.

Could Polly have been Mary/Polly ANN and for some reason been called Annie instead of Polly? She would have been born about 1775 or after because her older brothers were born 1771 and 1773. She was the daughter of John Alford and Jane _____ of Rockingham Co. VA who came to Greenbrier Co. about 1788. The main problem I see is that Polly also had a younger sister named ANNE who married Charles Keenan, 23 Jun 1798, also in Greenbrier Co. VA.

If you think any of this could possibly relate to your Annie, we would be happy to work with you to try to find more information.
