I am a descendant of Patsy Alford and John Newsome. Their son Dortch Newsome was my great-great grandfather. Patsy's father was William Alford of Hancock County, GA. Her death is also mentioned in a Christian publication of that period. I'll send you more info. on that soon. I have never been able to determine who her mother was.
