Don, There was a John B. Alford in Co G., 45th Infantry. I don't think we have ever seen proof that his initial was for Bibb but it stands to reason since he was the son of John Bibb Alford. I suggest you check one of the Civil War sites and look up the history of the 45th and perhaps you will find what you are seeking. Some day our association will have all the military history of all the Alfords but at the presnt time most of our effort is on birth, death, marriage and census.
