Hi Carol,
I really enjoyed hearing from someone who is actually a descendant of Abraham and Dorcas Alexander.
The information provided by Rev. Nicholason Ross Morgan came from letters he wrote in 1875 to Lyman Draper, who was collecting information on the Signers of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, with the intention, I believe, of writing a book.
I have seen the letters written by Rev. Morgan which are found in the Draper Manuscripts.Rev. Morgan's wife was Mary Wilson Alexander, a daughter of Nathaniel and Jane Harris Alexander. He wrote about that in his letters and also that Jane Wilson Harris (the wife of Nathaniel Alexnder) was the daughter of Mary Wilson (who married Robert Harris) and she was a SISTER of Zaccheus Wilson, the Signer of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Indpendence.Zaccheus Wilson was the step-father of Rev. Morgan's mother Jane Ross who (married Enoch Morgan).
According to the Harris Family Genealogy, Mary Wilson (who married Robert Harris) was the daughter of Zaccheus Wilson, but that is not what Rev. Morgan wrote.
Rev. Morgan mentioned many other families and especially the Alexander family, but I would need to check exactly what he wrote since it really didn't ring any bells with me at the time.I will check that again.
Thank for your expression of interest in these families.
