Acording to my notes Rosa Lee Alewine was the daughter of David Calvin Alewine, (1851-1913) and Angeline Alewine (1850-1927). David and Angeline are buried at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Hartwell, Hart County, GA along with many other Alewine kin. Rosa's parents were 1st cousins once removed. They moved from the Abbeville/Anderson county, SC area to Hart County, Georgia around 1885, about the same time as David's parents did.
David's parents were Joseph Addison Alewine (1824-1889) and Rebecca Emiline Lightsey (1823-1895). Joseph and Rebecca moved from Abbeville County, SC to Hart County, GA in the 1880s. They are buried at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Hartwell, Hart County, GA.
Angeline's parents were Jacob Alewine (1808-1887) and Margaret Darby (1813-1870)of Union and Newberry Counties, SC. They are buried at First Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Antreville, Abbeville County, SC. My records list Rosa as born in Madison County, GA. I have no info on her marriage.
I hope this helps.
Bill Alewine
