Leola, I hope that I do not confuse you. Here is some information that I pulled from the booklet that was compiled by Alton Alawine, Meridian, Miss., that I have a copy of.
There was a David Alewine who was married to Mary Ann "Polly" ________. David was b.c. 1815, Mary b.c.1825.
Their children were Catherine, John, Mary, and Ervin. This "Polly" Alewine could not be the Mother of your Emily Anna Banks, if Emily was b. in 1822.
The next possibility is David Alewine b.1780, whos first wife is not known. They had several daughters. One is Sarah,b. 1806. In 1820 he was living in Jasper Co., Ga., with his two younger brothers. His first wife had died, and on June 3, 1821, he married Nancy Williams,b. 1785.
They may have had a son and several daughters, but their names have not been found. In 1850 David and Nancy were living in Marion Co., Ga. David's daughter, Sarah married Micajah Buchannan in 1829, Jasper Co., Ga.
So....my question is...are we thinking of another "Polly" Alewine who married a T. Banks that we don't know about???
I could not find another one in my data. I hope that this will help you. Maybe someone out there can help us.
Good Luck, Brenda
