The Canary Islands!

Wouldn't it be amazing to discover that the ALEMAN recruits for the Louisiana Batallion who said "Adios, Good-By" to their brothers and cousins in the Canary Islands in 1778 might re-discover ALEMAN descendants of those same ALEMAN brothers and cousins here in the USA, but who came here by way of Cuba?

Most branches of the ALEMAN family of Louisiana (a very large family) can trace their origins to the Villa de Aguimes, Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands.

Where in the Canary Islands did the Cuban ALEMAN family originate?

Paul Newfield (in Louisiana)
