FRIDAY, July 16, 1999
6 PM Get Acquainted dinner at the Ramada In for those interested. Darlings Restaurant. Jody and John Aldrich will be there to welcome you. Hopefully we can get together after dinner beside the pool and relax.

SATURDAY, July 17, 1999
10:30 AM. Meet at the Ramada in for luncheon and meeting. We will have our own room and can choose items off the menu. We will have a Family social with time for genealogy and chatting with cousins before lunch.
12:00 A luncheon will be held followed by our annual reunion meeting. We would like to have as many members as possible present at this meeting on Saturday.
2:00 PM We travel by car to visit the Historic Slater Mill in Pawtucket, RI. (A short distance away) This mill is especially interesting because the American Industrial Revolution began here. There are three buildings on 57 acres. Two years ago we traveled along the Blackstone River and learned about the effect of the river on Early Industry in the area.
3:00 PM - 5 PM. We will have a guided tour of the Slater Mill. Price is $5.50 for seniors. $6.50 for younger adults.
If time permits we will then travel to Warwick where we can view the Elegant Aldrich House once owned by Senator Nelson Aldrich and his nephew, former Vice President Nelson A. Rockefeller.
About 6:30 we will have an informal supper at a place nearby which has yet to be selected.

You have a choice of activities on Sunday. Time will be allocated for morning church services. We would like your input as to which you would be interested in seeing. The possible choices are:

1. Alice Pallidini will meet members at 11:30 at Lowells, Rt 16 Mendon, MA for lunch. Following lunch she will escort the group to Mendon, and view the new George Aldrich plaque which our Association bought and had mounted near the place where it is believed that George Aldrich was buried.
About 2:30 Following the tour she will take members to the Woonsocket Museum. Enter the Museum across the threshold of a Quebecois farm house to encounter typical habitant life and family in the pre industrial era. From there you will begin a journey through the workday world of Woonsocket's residents and immigrant arrivals. Walking through a shop of a textile mill, on the front porch of a three family apartment house, sitting in church, at a school desk, and in the Union Hall, you will find yourself immersed in the everyday lives of the working class in New England from the pre-World War era to the present.

2. You might also choose to visit the Rhode Island Historical Library on Hope St. in Providence.(open Sunday at 12 Noon) Free Admission! The Library has extensive collections of published and manuscript genealogies.
